Marshmallow

Marshmallow is a younger guy at 7. He seems to have a little training under him, but we are still exploring what he does and does not know. Marshmallow was seized from Warren County with Pumpkin.

Lil Joe

Our mini mascot!! Little Joe was surrendered due to some foundering issues. He is not available for adoptions, but he does make celebrity appearances! Check our events for where that Little Joe will be this year!

Bree

DOB: 06/03/2005

Breed: Thoroughbred

Sex: Mare     Color: Dark Bay

Bree (approximately 17)  came to SVERN with her foal Cassanova in 2014. She was a body score of 5 after having just foaled, which is low. Bree had a previous injury that resulted in a fused ankle, and is unable to be ridden for that reason. She has a spicy personality and would do best in a home where she can be the dominant horse.

Rocket

Rocket: 18. Quarter Horse/Paint. Gelding. 15.2hh. Rocket was surrendered from New Market VA with Barbara Ann when their owner become ill. Rocket, like Barbara Ann, was not handled for a long time and is also being worked from the ground up here at SVERN. He is a sweet and trusting fellow, and will be a fabulous horse for someone!

Ginger

Ginger: 20. Quarter Horse. Mare. 14.3hh Ginger is a sweet mare in her early 20’s that was surrendered to SVERN through no fault of her own, her owners were moving an unable to bring Ginger to their new home. Ginger loads, bathes, ties, and is perfect on the ground with anyone and everyone. Ginger does need an advanced beginner or novice for riding, but does great in the ring or on the trail!

A small slideshow of the horses. Some of when they first arrived and some from later.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin (20's) was a body score of 1 when she was seized by animal control. She is now almost to her ideal weight and can be considered for adoption as a companion only. Pumpkin is missing a lot of her teeth and will need to have her teeth checked every 6 months by a vet.

Dallas

Dallas: 17. Draft Cross. Gelding. 16hh. Dallas was surrendered to SVERN when his owner passed away. Dallas was a trail horse in his past life and he would love to get back on the trail, but he has had some time off and needs an experienced rider to get him back to where he was. Dallas is a total puppy dog on the ground and loves all people!!

Woody

Dagwood AKA "Woody"

Woody (2) is a SVERN resident who has been adopted and is boarded with SVERN. He was abandoned in Richmond with Blondie, and was almost a body score of 2 prior to SVERN. He is now a healthy, happy, goofball!

Barbara Ann

Barbara Ann: 16. Morgan Cross. Mare. 14.3hh. Barbara Ann was surrendered from New Market VA after her owner became ill and was unable to provide adequate care to Barbara Ann and her companion. Barbara Ann was not handled for an extended period of time and requires patience and an open mind. She is currently working on the ground with us and doing great! She is incredibly sweet and willing, anyone who adopts her will be lucky!

Dillan

Dillan: 16. Quarter Horse. Gelding. 15hh. Dillan was surrendered to SVERN when his owner passed away. Dillan is blind in one eye, and was also not broke under saddle. Due to these factors, Dillan is available as a companion only, but he is a wonderful companion. He is perfect with any and all other horses.
